Fifteen-times major champion Tiger Woods has undergone fusion surgery on a bone in his ankle, 10 days after he withdrew from the Masters due to injury.
The 47-year-old had to pull out at Augusta midway through the third round, which he attributed to plantar fasciitis.
But he had an operation on Wednesday in New York and hopes to make the Open.
