U15 SFAI Cup

AFC Charleville 1Killarney Celtic 5(1:1 h/t)Killarney Celtic travelled to Cork to play the Limerick County league leaders on a fine autumn evening. The home side took an early lead beating the offside trap and finishing well. Killarney Celtic lacked a bit of composure and found it difficult to find any rhythm for the first 15-20 minutes but then started playing with a bit more control. A Jack O'Grady free kick driven low to the right levelled matters with  Celtic finished the half the stronger. Playing with a slight breeze after the break Killarney Celtic grew In confidence   and substitute Kiernan Kelly made immediate impacts up front going close himself and then setting up Samuel Scroope who's effort was blocked but turned over the line by a Charleville defender.

Killarney Celtic continued to dominate with a Jack Culloty  flick to score over the Charleville keeper. Killarney Celtics goalie Ryan Lucey had to be at his best to turn a well taken Charleville free kick  around the post with the game still in the balance. With the home side chasing, Celtics forwards pace on the break led to two late goals. Iggy Truchan drew the keeper out of the box with a surging run and although Charleville half cleared, sub Dara Horan superbly  finished into the empty net from range. Iggy  Truchan got on the score sheet with quick reactions to a kick out, after which he rounded the keeper to finish.

It was a closer game than Closer game than the 5-1 scoreline suggests but much improvement from the Celtic boys in the second half. Thanks to the hosts for a sporting game and to the referee.Best for Celtic were Dara Horan, Jack Culloty and Player of the match  goes to Sean Collins for a great 2nd half.

U14 Division 2 Boys

Killarney Celtic U14B Boys 4-5 Inter Kenmare FC

An end to end game as the scoreline shows. Killarney  Celtic took the lead through early in the first half and had some great chances to extend the lead but Kenmare equalised just before half time. Kenmare got 2 quick fire goals at start of 2nd half but Killarney Celtic fought back and goals brought both sides level. Killarney Celtic got on the end of a great team move and with a few minutes left we were ahead. This time it was Kenmare's turn to start a comeback and they were clinical and scored 2 late goals to take the win. A cracking game and everyone who was at the game  are already looking forward to the return fixture. Best on the day for Celtic Josh Salvador and Ben O'Sullivan.
