Barnabas Varga has had a "successful operation" on the injury he sustained against Scotland on Sunday.
The Hungary Football Federation has also revealed that their striker is recuperation at home.
Several of Varga's facial bones were broken and he also suffered a concussion in a collision with Scottish goalkeeper, Angus Gunn.
