SFAI Inter League Round-Up:
In the Munster 15’s Shield final a mix up by the opposition meant Kerry had to wait for the kick off which ended up being an hour later than planned. On the field Limerick District proved to be too strong on the day and they ran out 5-0 winners.
The 13’s North went down to Limerick County in their Inter League quarter final at the Park. The visitors took the win with Darragh O’Donoghue getting the Kerry goal.
The Kerry 15’s put in a great effort to come back from 3-0 to close within one thanks to goals from a Jack Slattery penalty and a Mo Abdalla goal.
Kennedy / Gaynor Pre Tournament in Clare:
The CSSL hosted a pre Gaynor and Kennedy Cup tournament at the weekend. The Boys took on Limerick County in the first game which ended 0-0 and they came from behind twice to draw with Clare 2-2.Szymon Jasinski and Ben Kelliher got the Kerry goals. And on Sunday they drew 1-1 with Longford (Rob Keane) and 2-2 with Mayo (Rob Keane, Ben Kelliher) to finish unbeaten in their four games.
The Girls Gaynor build-up continued as they played Mayo first going down 2-0 in a game that was very tight all the way through.
And in their second game they drew 2-2 with Longford. Laura Falvey got both the Kerry goals.
SFAI 14’s Girls defeat for Listowel Celtic:
Listowel Celtic went out of the SFAI 14’s Girls Regional Competition at the semi-final stage as their depleted side went down 4-1 to Killavilla. Laura Meehan scored for Listowel Celtic from the penalty spot.
John Dowling 11’s Finals Day
Ballyhar Dynamos take the 11’s Bowl:
Dingle Bay Rovers booked their place in the weekends 11’s Bowl final thanks to win at home to Inter Kenmare. Their goals came from Tommy Ferris, Oisin Madley, Seosamh O’Griffin, James Slattery, Sean Hannafin and Dara Mcantsitigh. This set up a final against Ballyhar Dynamos.
In the final they made the better start and went 2-0 up. But Ballyhar Dynamos bounced right back to level the game and then in the third quarter they went ahead and opened up a 5-2 lead. Dingle Bay Rovers fought to the finish and pulled one back late on but it was Ballyhar’s day. There goals came from Alex Finn who got two and Patrick O’Connor with a hat trick while Tommy Ferris hit two for Dingle and Seosamh Griffin got the third.
Ballyhar Dynamos player Adam Fleming was named Player of the Match.
Inter Kenmare are the 11’s Plate Champions:
An Aidan Lehane hat trick and one each from Eli Granville, Scott Smith and Aaron Sheehan gave Inter Kenmare the John Dowling Plate as the defeated Listowel Celtic 6-2. The Hoops had Joe Joe and Cathal Dennehy on the score-sheet.
Listowel Celtic take home the 11’s Shield:
Listowel Celtic are the 11’s Shield champions after a hard fought 4-2 win over Tralee Dynamos. Celtic led 2-0 and 3-1 but each time Dynamos pulled one back before Listowel Celtic got the insurance goal. Mason Sheehy hit a hat trick for Celtic with Liam Dennehy getting the other goal. Eddie Carmody scored twice for Dynamos and was named the Player of the Match.
Cup success for St Brendan’s Park:
The final game of a wonderful day for our 11’s players saw St Brendan’s Park defeat Killorglin to take home the John Dowling Cup, named after a stalwart of that club.
Nathan Anthony hit 4 for the Park with Aaron Daly and Cian Cronin getting the other two. Sam Moroarty replied for Killorglin.
LB progress in 12’s Shield:
A hat-trick from Anthony Doherty and one from Thomas Scanlon saw LB Rovers B into the John Murphy Shield Last 8 where they will be away to the winner of MEK Galaxy B and Dingle Bay Rovers.
Last 8 in 12’s Cup taking shape:
Castleisland made the trip to Ballyheigue a winning one in the Last 16 of the John Murphy 12’s Cup thanks to two hat tricks from Daniel Collins and Tony Kelly plus one each from Ronan and Liam O’Connor. Castleisland will be at home to Inter Kenmare or Ballyhar Dynamos in the quarter finals.
Mastergeeha A are also through as they got past LB Rovers to progress to a home quarter final against Listowel Celtic A.
Ballyhar Dynamos are away to Castleisland in the quarter finals following their win away at Inter Kenmare B. The Ballyhar goals came from Ryan Quilter and Adam O’Meara in the first half and from Odhran Leslie 2, Shane Edwards and Ryan Quilter in the second half.
Killarney Athletic A won at home to Inter Kenmare A thanks to an Eanna Hennigan hat trick and one from Sean Lyne. Next up in the quarter finals is a home tie against Park C.
Castleisland D defeated their teammates Castleisland E to also progress. The winner’s goals came from Se O’Donnell 2, Ryan O’Connor, Mathew O’Sullivan and Sean O’Donoghue.
One Park team definitely progressing in 13’s Cup along with Killorglin:
St Brendan’s Park were guaranteed to have one of their teams through from this game as the B’s took on the C’s. And it was a Calvin O’Sullivan who got the only goal of the games sending the C’s through. They will now play Killorglin A in Christy Leahy Park in the Last 8.
Killorglin A were 8-2 winners over LB Rovers B whose two goals were scored by Fionain Mason. On the mark for Killorglin were Callum Robertson, Alberto and Darragh Sullivan who got two each and Harry Whittleton and Jack Buckley one each.
Park into 13’s Shield quarter finals;
A home win by St Brendan’s Park E which saw them defeat Tralee Dynamos B puts them into the John Joe Naughton 13’s quarter final where Killarney Celtic B will be their opponents. The Park had goals from Noah Reidy, Albi Gaxha, Aaron Donovan and Patrick Leen in the win. Codi Quilligan and Alan Bak got the Dynamos B goals.
Camp win in 14’s Cup Last 4:
Robert Keane had a night to remember as he hit 5 goals, which were added to by one from Darragh Murphy, as Camp Juniors defeated Killorglin in the Tom Hayes 14’s Cup Last 8. They will now be at home to Killarney Athletic in the semi-finals.
Park B progress in two rounds with Castleisland also through;
Goals from Danny Kingston and Johnny Neilings saw St Brendan’s Park B get past Mastergeeha C in the Tom Hayse 14’s Shield Last 16.Roan Guerin got one back for the Kilbrean side. The Park B then travelled to Inter Kenmare B in the quarter final and two goals from Jack Daly sets them up for a semi-final away to Castleisland C.
Castleisland C had goals from Ben Brosnan, Harry Crowley, Josh Ryan, Shane Loughlin, Darragh Cahill and Kyle Buckley in their win over Park D.
Ballyhar progress in the following round of 14’s Shield:
Ballyhar Dynamos booked their place in the 14’s Shield semi-finals thanks to a win away at Mastergeeha D. The Ballyhar goals came from Anthony Cronin, Davin Quilter, Conrad Long and John Henderson.
Fenit first into 15’s Shield semi-final:
Two goals each from Gregory Clifford and Cian McKenna and one from Kealan O’Dowd saw Fenit Samphires as the first team into the Healy Family 15’s Shield final after defeating St Brendan’s Park B. They will play the winners of Listowel Celtic B and Camp Juniors. Jerry Lynch scored for the Park.
Park B book place in 16’s Bowl final:
The Tucker Kelly 16’s Bowl final will be between LB Rovers and St Brendan’s Park B. Two goals from William Jackovi gave the Tralee the win over Killorglin C to book their place in the final. Patryk Radny scored for Killorglin C.
16’s Shield Final line-up confirmed:
Castleisland defeated Dingle Bay Rovers to progress to the Tucker Kelly 16’s Shield final where they will take on Mastergeeha. Castleisland’s goals came from Eoghan Shire 4, Mint O’Connor and Finn Nolan.
Killorglin and Listowel Celtic to contest the 16’s Plate final:
With Killorglin already in the final they now know their opponents as Listowel Celtic defeated Iveragh United in their semi-final. The Listowel Celtic goals came from Alfie Dinnesen 2, Javi Martinez, Carlos Riquelme, Bobbie Wood and Marcus Connolly.
Busy week in 12’s Premier as Park crowned champions:
The action in a busy week in the Slasttery’s Carpets and Blinds 12’s Premier saw St Brendan’s Park crowned champions.
Killarney Celtic started off the week’s action with a 1-0 win over Listowel Celtic thanks to a Pa McCarthy goal.
Celtic then defeated Killorglin 2-1 on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Pa McCarthy and Lachlan Scannell. Tommy Foley replied for Killorglin.
The following night St Brendan’s Park welcomed Killarney Athletic to Christy Leahy Park knowing that a win would give them the title. And after a tight game they got the three points they needed to be crowned champions thanks to Calvin O’Sullivan goal.
Killorglin win at home in 13’s Premier:
Goals from Alberto, Aidan Field, Callum Robertson and Darragh Sullivan gave Killorglin the three points in their 13’s Premier clash with Killarney Athletic. David O’Donoghue scored for Athletic.
Seven goal thriller in 13’s Division 2:
This game between Castleisland B and the Park D was a roller coaster. Jacob Piotrowski scored twice to put the Park two up but Alan Wierzanski and Daniel Sullivan levelled matters. Sam McCarthy put Castleisland ahead but Piotrowski completed his hat-trick to make it 3-3. And Ike Echeme then got the winner for the Tralee side.
Castleisland made it two wins from two on Saturday when goals from Tadgh Nolan 2, Conor Lenihan, Sam McCarthy, Alan Wierzanski, Padraig O’Connor and Daniel Sullivan gave them a home win over Fenit B.
Honours even in 14’s Premier:
Killarney Athletic and St Brendan’s Park shared the points in their World of tiles 14 Premier clash in Woodlawn. Szymon Jasinski and Ben Kelliher got the Athletic goals with Saad Abdalla and Sean O’Neill from a free kick replied for the Tralee side.
Inter win in 14’s Division 2:
In the World of Tiles 14’s Division 2 Inter Kenmare B won at home to Castleisland B with their goals coming from Ethan Brennan who got two and Colm Cronin. Adam Gincel replied for Castleisland B.
Inter Kenmare’s win secures 15’s Division 2 title:
Inter Kenmare C knew a home win over Listowel Celtic C would see them crowned 15’s Division 2 champions. And they made no mistake thanks to 4 goals from Sean Casey and one Cathal MacSweeney.
Celtic’s win in Tralee gives them the 16’s title:
An early goal from Jamie Moynihan, who got two on the night, gave Killarney Celtic the perfect start in their must win game against St Brendan’s Park in Tralee. John O’Grady added a third for the Killarney side to wrap up the win and the 16’s Premier title. Jamie Fisher scored for the Park on the night.
South Kerry side into 14’s Girls Shield semis:
Iveragh United made the trip to Killarney Athletic a winning one in the 14’s Girls Shield thanks to goals from Vilte Paulauskiene 3, Amie Kelly 2 and Daisy Driscoll. Iveragh United’s reward is a home semi-final against Fenit Samphires.
Killarney Celtic in 16’s Girls Cup Final:
The 16’s Girls Cup has been named in honour of Lol “Laurie” O’Leary and Killarney Celtic booked their place in the decider as they defeated Camp Juniors. The Celtic goal scorers were Clogadh McGorrian 3, Aideen O’Brien and Eve Culhane.
Iveragh win away in 12’s Girls Division 1:
Mastergeeha had two goals from Grace Murphy and one from Anna Lenihan but it wasn’t enough as Iveragh United took the win in Kilbrean Park. Amy Rose Shanahan hit 3 and Casey Shanahan 2 for the winners.
Celtic Girls win in 13’s Premier in Tralee:
Killarney Celtic made the trip to St Brendan’s Park a winning one in the 13’s Girls Premier thanks to two goals from Ali Bowler and one from Niamh Brosnan. Malwina Janowska got the St Brendan’s Park goal.
Castleisland’s first half goals give them the 16’s Girls Division 1 title:
Goals from Amelie Kerin and Seana Wilkenson put Castleisland 2-0 up at the break against Fenit Samphires who pulled one back in the second half thanks to a Lily Nowak penalty. However Castleisland held on for the three points which gave them the u16 Girls Division 1 title with a game to spare.
