Sligo Rovers have formally submitted their application for funding as part of the government’s Large Scale Sport in Infrastructure Fund.
They’re seeking to turn the Showgrounds into the first UEFA Category-3 stadium outside of Dublin.
The new stadium will have a 61-hundred capacity, and a hybrid pitch.
