Carlos Sainz admits he was surprised to be told Lewis Hamilton would be replacing him at Ferrari next year.
The 7-time F1 world champion will leave Mercedes to join the Italian team at the end of the current season.
Sainz is disappointed by the decision but says it won't be the end of the Spaniard's Formula One career.
