Tralee's Jason O'Regan ensured that a Kerry player would finish second in the National Senior Mens Strokeplay Championship for the second straight year as he followed up on Deerpark's Damien Fleming's runners-up finish last year by coming second as well this time out in Glenville in Dublin.

Although he was not able to bridge the four shot gap between event winner Bruff's Kieran Earls and himself over the extra 18 holes, his 15 under par total gave him second place by three strokes.

His Tralee club-mate Darren Goodall was 18th overall in the competition meanwhile, finishing on four under par.
