On the night Old Trafford paid tribute to Bobby Charlton, Manchester United earned a much needed win in the Champions League.

They beat Copenhagen 1-nil in Group A.

Harry Maguire scored the winning goal as Andre Onana saved a stoppage time penalty.

The goalkeeper was mobbed by his team-mates at the final whistle and United boss Erik ten Hag says that while there may be issues at the club, a lack of unity isn't one of them.

Arsenal won 2-1 away to Sevilla in Group B - with the goals coming from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus picked up a hamstring injury after setting up the first goal and scoring a brilliant second.

In the competition tonight, champions Manchester City are away to Young Boys in Group G from 8pm, with the other game in that Group between RB Leipzig and Red Star Belgrade.

Newcastle United host Borussia Dortmund in Group F at St James' Park from 8, with PSG to play AC Milan in the other Group game.

Also at 8 o'clock, it's Celtic up against Atletico Madrid in Glasgow in Group E - with the other tie in that Group involving Feyenoord and Lazio.

In Group H, Barcelona play Shakhtar Donetsk and Royal Antwerp face FC Porto.

Cobh Ramblers beat Wexford 1-nil last night and will take that lead into the second leg of their First Division play off semi final.

Athlone and Waterford played out a 1-1 draw.

The return legs take place on Saturday.

Paul Gascoigne has paid tribute to Bill Kenwright by describing Everton's chairman as a "true gentleman" following his death at the age of 78.

As well as his work as Goodison Park, Kenwright was an acclaimed West End theatre and film producer.

Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, is an Everton supporter.
