BOYS U12 INTER-LEAGUE:
LIMERICK DESMOND 3-2 KERRY
Kerry’s first game ended unfortunately with a 3-2 loss, trailed 2-0 at the break to a shot from the edge of the box and a set piece. Kerry dominated the 2nd half and deservedly equalised with 2 goals from Eric Corcoran. They went on and got a winner with 3 mins to go and held on.
LIMERICK DESMOND V KERRY
Kerry’s second team dominated the second game from start, leading at the break 2-0 through goals from Ryan O Connor and Denys Moiseiev. The second half was more of the same. Kerry playing into a strong breeze once again controlled the play and were unlucky not to add to their tally, but the most pleasing aspect was keeping a clean sheet.
BOYS U13 INTER-LEAGUE:
KERRY 2-0 NORTH TIPPERARY SGGL
BOYS U14 INTER-LEAGUE:
KERRY 6-0 WEST CORK
It was a great performance by the Kerry team that took to the field against West Cork. The entire squad of 22 players played their part in securing a 6-0 win in their opening game of the Interleague session. The scorers for Kerry were captain Danny Kingston with a hat trick, Odhran Buckley, Roan Guerin and Mickey Corridon with one apiece. Kerry now look forward to hosting Limerick Desmond next Sunday at Kilbreen Park.
U15 Inter League
In Kerry’s first game of the SFAI under 15 Inter League Kerry came away winners against a well organised West Cork. Ben Kelleher opened the scoring with a blistering run down the right wing to score into the top corner for a fantastic finish. Kerry doubled the scores from a corner when Jayden Fennell found the West Cork net from a corner. Just after half time Jayden Fennell made it 3 with a cool finish into the corner of the West Cork goal. West Cork got two late goals with 5 minutes remaining. But it was Kerry who deservedly came away with the points. Best for Kerry were Ben Kelleher, Jayden Fennell, Joshua Minnie and Mark O'Carroll. Man of the match was Jack Hallissey with a fantastic display in midfield.
BOYS U16 INTER-LEAGUE:
KERRY 3-4 CORK
On 5 minutes Kerry hit the crossbar through Leigh Meehan. On 6mins Cork counterattack, diagonal ball right to left, square pass across edge of area and slotted home for 1 - 0 lead. In the 19 minute a Kerry switch of play, left to right, found Leigh Meehan. He slipped the pass to Aaron Harty who rounded the keeper and narrowly pulled his effort wide from a very tight angle. In the 24th minute Kerry made a positional change, moving Dawid Grebowiec from wide left to central midfield and this had an immediate impact. Another switch of play left to right and a pin-point delivery found the leaping aforementioned Dawid, whose header found the back of the net for the equaliser. On 34 minutes and with Kerry on top, a diagonal ball left to right found Leigh Meehan 1v1; he skipped past a defender inside the box and rifled the ball into the top right hand corner of the net. HALF-TIME KERRY 2 - 1 CORK
After the restart Cork start quickly and leveled matters in 4 minutes. On 45 minutes Kerry counterpunched superbly, David Moore swings in a great Corner-Kick delivery which is only half cleared to the alert Neal O’ Shea, who strikes from outside the box to the bottom left-hand corner of the net, 3 - 2 Kerry. 55mins - Heroic defending from Captain Alex Kelly, goal-line headed clearance over the crossbar. Cork's equaliser came on the 68th minute; 3 all. Two minutes later the game was on a knife-edge with both sides going for it with huge intensity. Cork counterattack to go in front 4 – 3. Kerry changed formation & threw the kitchen sink by committing numbers to attack but Cork's defence stood firm for the remaining minutes. Man Of The Match - Jack O' Mahony.
