As the final month of action begins for 2024 begins in Pitch & Putt this first weekend of October, there will be plenty of Tralee and Deerpark interest in this weekend’s National Scotch Foursomes in Lakeside.

The Non-Mixed Section required qualifying within Kerry with Tralee father and son Tony and Jamie Blake automatic for this grade by virtue of their win in the Munster event all the way back in May in Bishopstown. Four other pairs join them with Tralee’s Jason Cregan and Deerpark’s Damien Fleming teaming up after performing well as a pair for Kerry in the recent National Inter-County. Their team-mates Darren Goodall and Gavin Carroll will be taking part this Sunday as well with father and son Jason and Mark O’Regan also amongst the field as there is one all Ladies pair from the county this year in the form of Tralee’s Charlotte Blake and Deerpark’s Eileen McCarthy in this section also.

The previous day on Saturday sees the Mixed event take place where there are six Kerry pairs amongst the field. Eileen McCarthy will team with Darren Goodall as the other five pairs taking part in this grade are all Tralee pairs. Brother and sister Jamie and Charlotte Blake will be taking part for a second day as Tony Blake will be playing with Lisa O’Connor in this grade. There are two husband and wife pairs meanwhile as Jason and Bernadette O’Regan will play along with Alan and Catriona O’Connor as the other pairing from Tralee entered on the day is that of Danny O’Leary and Rosemarie O’Sullivan.

The County wishes all the Kerry pairs involved over both days the very best of luck.
