The Warriors stormed into the game with two three pointers from Daniel Jokubaitis bookending an early scoring blitz that saw the Tralee side lead by double scores midway through the opening half. MVP Mark Stephens, Greg Adon and Brandon Mahan were also in range but Limerick Celtics kept in touch through captain AJ Williams and Abdil Wurie to keep the gap to 16-11. Rap Buivydas sparked another quick run by the Warriors with a double either side of a baseline drive from Jokubaitis but Williams and Wurie continued to land some tough scores to keep Celtics well in the game. Stephens stretched the Tralee sides advantage out to 27-17 but Williams beat the buzzer to pare the Warriors half time lead down to 27-20.

Limerick Celtics had the better of the early exchanges in the second half with Finn Hughes and China Obikwelu on the mark but Stephens, Jokubaitis and Adon with an ‘and one’ kept their 34-26 lead intact. Williams then struck twice in a minute following his inside effort with a stunning three to leave just a single score between the teams with 3’00’’ on the clock. The Warriors struck back to quell any suggestion of an upset when Stephens and Mahan pulled up for a two point score each before Adon struck with the game winning major. Finn Hughes replied immediately in kind but Mahan restored a 10 point lead as the game entered the final minute. Celtics played right to final seconds but despite late baskets from Wurie and Hughes it was too little too late to spoil the night for the Warriors who secured another Premier Mens title with a 44-38 win in the end.

Warriors captain Eoin Quigley accepted the winning trophy on behalf of the Super League outfit and Mark Stephens was the deserving winner of the MVP award.
