Currow welcomed East Kerry neighbours Glenflesk on Saturday evening last, looking to recover from their heavy loss the previous week against all Ireland Junior champions Na Gaeil. In a tight opening quarter both sides traded scores with Glenflesk leading at the first water break on a score line of 0-5 to 0-3 The battle between Darragh Roche and Currow full back Alex Fleming was particularly notable as the tie progressed with the Glenflesk man knocking over a few well taken scores before the break to leave the half time score 0-7 to 0-4.
A blistering start to the second half from Glenflesk saw them hit 1-3 without reply. Currow responded with scores of their own from captain Pa McCarthy and midfielder Seamus Brosnan to leave the home side with work to do at the second water water break with the scores at 1-11 to 0-07. In a similar fashion to the start of the second half, the away side pressed their advantage again after this break and with Currow reduced to 14 men the tie was now out of reach. Darragh Roche capped of his fine performance with a goal at the death to leave the final score 2-16 to 0-09.
