Munster and Ireland outhalf Joey Carbery's suffered another setback in his recovery from an ankle injury.
The province have ruled Carbery out for “an indefinite period of time”.
The 24-year-old first picked up the knock over a year ago in Ireland's World Cup warm-up match against Italy.
He was sidelined with a wrist injury on his return in December but then underwent further surgery on his ankle and his expected September return has now been pushed back.
The news confirms that Kerry’s JJ Hanrahan will maintain the 10 jersey as Munster return to action for their Guinness PRO14 clash with Leinster at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
The Currow man who turned 28 last month is the leading scorer in this years Pro14 season with 101 and was in good form as the starting outhalf before the break in March.
The clash with Leinster is being played behind closed doors in the Aviva stadium.
