Kerry and Dublin have drawn in the Allianz Football League, 1-18 to 4-9.
The Kingdom recovered from a 6 point half-time deficit as a David Clifford goal in added on time meant a drawn encounter.
The first big drama of the day came inside 2 minutes as a Con O’Callaghan fisted effort hit the Kerry post when a goal looked more likely. Both sides missed early chances but after 10 minutes Kerry were ahead by 2 points to 1 with Sean O’Shea and Diarmuid O’Connor (in for Jack Barry) on target. Dara Moynihan and David Clifford put over to increase the advantage to 3 after 14 minutes. Poor defending let Dubin in on goal and Con O’Callaghan made no mistake this time to level proceedings. Points from Diarmuid O’Connor and Paudie Clifford had Kerry back in front, 0-6 to 1-1 at the water break. In the 21st minute all the hard work by Kerry was undone again as Dublin worked their way in for another goal, Cormac Costello the beneficiary this time. By the 28 minute mark Dublin had pointed 3 more times to move in front by 2-4 to 0-6. After Dublin went 4 points clear 2 David Clifford points halved the deficit at 2-4 to 0-8 three minutes from the break. Kerry thought they had scored a goal then but Dara Moynihan’s effort was called back, with no advantage given for a foul. Sean O’Shea put over the resultant free. The Kerry defence was opened up too easily again in added on time, a simple high ball in bouncing into the hands of Con O’Callaghan and he hit the net once more. HT: Kerry 0-9 Dublin 3-6
After Dublin got the first point of the second half Kerry fought back, hitting 5 points in a row. Paul Geaney and Dara Moynihan both put over before a hat trick of David Clifford scores narrowed the gap to two at 0-14 to 3-7 after 49 minutes. Dublin went in front by 3 but 2 Paul Murphy points, with a Sean O’Shea point in-between, had the Kingdom level. It was 0-17 to 3-8 with 14 minutes remaining. A goal on the hour mark saw the Dubs take the lead again. Cormac Costello rammed home from the penalty spot. A Sean O’Shea free cut the gap to 2 with 7 minutes to go. The next score didn't arrive until 3 minutes into added on time, a Dublin point. Kerry needed a goal and got the opportunity in the 73rd minute when Stephen O'Brien was fouled in the box-Kerry penalty! David Clifford tucked it home to equalise at 1-18 to 4-9. The spoils were shared.
