Elsewhere Roscommon eased their relegation troubles by beating struggling Monaghan by 1-16 to 7 points at Dr. Hyde Park.
Division 2 leaders Armagh and Donegal played out a 1-9 to 12 point draw.
Meanwhile, Cork eeked out a 1-14 to 16 point win over Fermanagh, Cavan got the better of Louth by 2-13 to 3-9 and Meath beat Kildare 12 points to 9 in Navan.

Cork beat Waterford in Division 1A of the Allianz National Hurling League this evening.
That was a first win of the year for the Rebels at Pairc Ui Chaoimh where it's finished Cork 1-21 Waterford 1-19
Clare and Wexford played out a 16 point to 1-13 draw and Kilkenny came from behind to beat Offaly 1-26 to 1-19.
In Division 1B Galway have beaten Antrim by 2-35 to 1-13 in Corrigan Park.
