"Being part of a team here, has given me my life back". Those are the words of Martin Griffin when Kaya asked him why he volunteers at the Lartigue Monorail in Listowel.
The Lartigue Monorail was opened between Ballybunion and Listowel in 1888.
The monorail-design system was developed by Charles Lartigue after he was inspired by watching a camel train working in Algeria.
The line was damaged in the Civil War and was closed in 1924.
Today the Lartigue Monorail Museum is a popular spot to see all the old artefacts, history and the replica of the monorail.
Martin is a volunteer at the museum and he shares the story with Kaya on Travels Through a Kingdom.
