This weeks guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Dean McCarthy. Dean who is a proud Kerry man from Listowel. Dean was born with spina bifida and is a wheelchair user and proud as he tells me. Dean plays wheelchair basketball with Limerick Celtics and he represented Ireland at both u19 and u23 levels. Dean recently took up playing para badminton, with the Tralee and Listowel clubs. It is Deans aim to represent Ireland in the Paralympics at some stage. Sit back and enjoy the show.
