This weeks guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is North Kerry man Chris Barrett. Chris fulfilled a lifelong dream when he joined the crew of the ship SV Linden on what will be a 10-day long expedition circumnavigating the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard. He was chosen from amongst 10 others to be a part of the voyage, the primary aim of which is to install and to test an array of scientific and technological equipment. The group will be trained to sail professionally, contributing directly to climate science while witnessing the Arctic’s beauty! We will be talking about Chris’s recent trip, photography, climate change, scientific research and much more.
