Saturday Supplement - May 15th, 2021

On the Saturday Supplement with Joe McGill this week we hear from Declan Murphy about his new book: The Spirit of the River: A Quest for the Kingfisher. Declan has birdwatched extensively in Kerry and visits to do so regularly (during a normal year!) and was involved in identifying Ireland's first Brown Shrike in Ballyferriter in 1987. Father Patsy Lynch of the parish of Prior in South Kerry will tell us how he has embraced technology during Covid to reach out to his parishioners.  We’ll hear from Niall Huggard from the Killarney Lake Hotel about his 5K in ‘Kingdom 5K’. PJ Teahan will be on to tell us about the virtual World Fiddle Day, Scartaglin, which takes place on Saturday May 22^nd. We’ll also be talking about a new arts festival in Ballybunion.
