Dr Eamonn Shanahan is away this week, but to fill in Deirdre has been focusing on Arthritis Week. She spoke to Derek Griffin Chartered Physiotherapist at the Bons and Ger Collins who suffers from Ankylosing Spondylitis & Degenerative Disc Disease. He is also the Branch Treasurer and will answer any questions on Branch activities. Deirdre also spoke to Josephine Twiss had to retire as a nurse due to her Osteo arthritis many years ago, but is still a very active farmer. She is also an Arthritis Ireland ‘’Living Well With Arthritis’’ course leader and Aideen Fitzgibbons in her 70's and suffers from both Inflammatory and Osteo Arthritis. She finds the Hydrotherapy Programme great. She has also done Gym- Aerobic Strength & Conditioning Exercise Programme in conjunction with the MTU Master Students course ‘’Applied Exercise For Health’’ Education Programme. This is the first and only programme of its kind in Ireland!
