This is a documentary  by Yuliia Riabova, a student of the journalism, podcasting, and radio course at Kerry College, run in conjunction with Radio Kerry. This year marks the third year Ukrainians all over Ireland will celebrate their country's Independence Day far from home, while their homeland continues to fight for its freedom. (Independence Day is held on August 24th.) During this time, Ukrainian children have worked hard to integrate into new schools and the Kerry community that welcomed them. In this documentary, young adults Stepan and Mariia share their experiences. Also taking part are Marianne Marshall of Kerry ETB and Cara Kennedy, an English as an Additional Language (EAL) teacher from CBS The Green, Tralee, about their roles in supporting Ukrainian students.
