Reduced speed limits are being introduced on a "phased basis", with the intention that a 60 kilometre per hour limit on local roads would be in place by November, according to the Minister of State at the Department of Transport.
At this month’s meeting of Kerry County Council, councillors said they’re worried people won't be aware of the changes coming in next week and want the council to do an awareness campaign so people don't get caught speeding and fined.
