This year’s local elections see a significant increase in the number of candidates of a migrant background running and a record number in Kerry. In the 2019 local elections there were 56 migrant candidates. However, the Immigrant Council of Ireland has identified over 100 candidates of a migrant background running in the upcoming local elections on 7th June. Five people of migrant backgrounds are contesting local authority elections in Kerry. Jerry spoke to Teresa Buczkowska of the Immigrant Council of Ireland.
