Today (August 15th) a commemoration will take place in Shinnagh Cross, Rathmore at 8pm to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the last public execution in Ireland. Tadhg Cotter was a local leader of the Whiteboy agrarian The event will take place in Shinnagh Cross, Rathmore at 8pm at the monument commemorating Tadhg Cotter, a local leader of the secret Whiteboys agrarian organisation, who was executed on August 15th, 1824.
