Kerry County Museum is celebrating the rich culture and heritage of the Traveller community with an exhibition that’s running for all this month. The launch of the exhibition coincided with
the Traveller Pride Event 2024 organised by  Kerry Traveller Health and Community Development Programme. This was also held at Kerry County Museum in Tralee. Treasa Murphy spoke to Katie Coffey about her nomadic life and her extraordinary family including her grandmother who was involved with the David Lean film, Ryan’s Daughter. Mary Boyne explained what a beady pocket is.

The second part of this feature will be broadcast on Kerry Today tomorrow, Friday, June 7th.
