Last night, Fianna Fáil held its convention to select a candidate to run in Kerry at the next general election. Minister Norma Foley easily won; she received 282 of the 367 votes cast by Fianna Fáil members. Cllr Michael Cahill received 53 votes and Cllr Mikey Sheehy got the backing of 32 party members.
