Today’s show was broadcast from MTU North Campus in Dromtacker, Tralee to mark the final of the Kerry Student Enterprise Awards, as well as the MTU Enterprise Showcase and Kerry Start-Up Challenge. Treasa Murphy spoke to Tomás Hayes, head of Kerry Local Enterprise Office (LEO) and to Caitriona Py Collins, schools coordinator and mentor for the Kerry Student Enterprise Awards. Patrick Harrington Stack from Meán Scoil Nua an Leith-Triúigh, William Sommers from CBS The Green, Diarmuid Ó Ciardhubháin from Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibne, Katie Grant from Presentation Secondary School, Listowel, and Shauna O’Keeffe from Castleisland Community College also took part. Shane O’Connor of Seriously Sound Food, Mary-Thea Brosnan of Kerry Kefir, and Colm Hassett of AVA Sports Medical discussed their involvement with the MTU Enterprise Showcase, Kerry Start-Up Challenge and the New Frontiers programme. Emily Reen who’s enterprise coordinator/ New Frontiers programme manager at MTU also contributed. Two of the Kerry Start-Up Challenge judges, Niamh Sterling, partner at Furthr VC and Stephen Wilson Downey, CEO of AIP Technology and Spéire also took part in the show.
