Kerry schools are among those named by the scoping inquiry into historical sexual abuse in schools run by religious orders. The inquiry was established by the Government after a radio documentary exposed the abuse of boys by religious orders in Blackrock College in Dublin. The inquiry report stated

that over 800 people had been accused of more than 2,300 instances of historical sexual abuse. Jerry spoke to the Minister for Education Norma Foley and to Liam O'Brien, series producer of RTÉ Documentary on One, which produced the Blackrock Boys documentary.
