In the third instalment of the second series of EU and Me, which is supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Communicating Europe initiative, pupils quiz experts about the continent’s geography and how it’s being affected by climate change. John Byrne is a post-primary geography teacher who’s been teaching geography in Hamilton High School, Bandon for almost 30 years. Dr Therese Higgins is a lecturer in Kerry MTU’s School of Science, Engineering and Mathematics. Dr Rowan Feely from Annagh is a research-lecturer in Maynooth University’s Department of Geography where he lectures on the theoretical and applied aspects of the climate system. Lily Riordan and Alek O’Shea from Cullina National School, Beaufort; Jamie Dundon and Clodagh Murphy of Brosna NS, and Aoife Griffin and Ellie Prendergast of St Oliver’s NS, Ballylongford ask the questions. Ciara Gibbons, eTwinning officer with Léargas, explains how the eTwinning.net platform allows classrooms to link up with other schools in the EU.
