A memory to cherish was men cutting turf at a bog with a sleán not far from Listowel Town a few years back including John Bosco McMahon(centre) from Lisselton. Like with other traditions they are becoming a thing of the past as rural Ireland is changing. But what an experience it was for those that spent a day in the bog and to drink the tea boiled with a kettle that had a special flavour. It was known that Con Houlihan would prefer to spend a day in the bog instead of his job as a teacher. Yours Moss Joe Browne.
Hi Joe and Dominic. This one definitely made me think . The first one is of my dog Monty. He passed away a few years ago an still I think of how much we loved an miss him still. Picture taken on beal strand where we took him for a walk every day.
The 2nd pic taken around 1958. My grandad William Hannon was a great role model. He used take his pony an car from beal to listowel to sell bèal spuds an other veg. He used spend his day talking to people. And when he got home used tell us all the stories. In the pic was my grandad an my brother an sister listening to every word. The 3rd picture is a bit different. I had the privilege of been in a famous much loved kerryman house in blennerville. He loved to talk about birds. Frank king. . Hope you liked what I have chosen . Good evening Joe & Dominic. The theme for November’s photo competition is very fitting indeed. I chose this one of Kells Bay taken in October on the night of the Harvest moon (The Hunter’s Moon). Believe me , it took me back to my childhood . Time seemed to stand still as my mind wandered from the beach, all the way up to Kells NS through the fields. God be good to my parents Eddie & Mary Lynch 🙏🙏. They taught us everything we know. Joe & Dominic , thank you for your monthly “In focus programme”I wish you & yours a Happy Christmas. Agnes

Hi Joe This is a picture of donkeys taking shelter during storm Bert. I couldn't get any closer as they would have moved away. Keep up the good work. Regards Joan Trant.
Hi Joe and Dominic
Having regard to your November theme of rememberance,I attach two images. Recently while walking past the stone grotto at Inch on a dark dreary November evening I was struck by the beautiful candle light emanating from grotto. It stood out like a beacon in the darkness, It was difficult to photograph as it was too dark without flash and full flash diminished candle effect. Eventually I got a satisfactory image with a reduced flash. On another evening I was taken by the moonlight lighting up Inch Burial Ground. With the aid of a tripod and long exposure I was able to capture it with burial ground in foreground and Castlemaine Harbour and magnificient Magillycuddy Reeks in background. For a while I thought I had also captured a ghostly cloaked lady standing by a tomb left of centre.Sadly on zooming in to image, it was not so,but rather the shape and texture of tomb wall. But still possibly a passable ghost and very apprropriate for month of November.
Best regards to you both

Dear Joe & Domnic,
When I heard you giving out the title of this month's photos. I just had to send these in.The photos, which I have attached may not be the best
are of the Big River which played a big part of our growing up in Riverside, Oakpark. The reason I'm sending you these is that the Big River holds such wonderful memories for me. One such memory is that every Sunday morning for as long as I can remember my Father Johno crossed the River to visit his friends The Creans. This friendship was special to my father as it started when his parents bought their home in Riverside. My father died in 1975 way too soon. Never forgotten ❤️.
Kind regards Anne O’Donnell
