Almost 200 (191) Ukrainians took part in a course in Tralee on starting a business. It was specifically devised for the Ukrainian community about entrepreneurship in Ireland. Olya Maryntseva, community worker of SICAP (Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme) at NEWKD and Robert Carey, Programme Manager with NEWKD were among the organisers.
We hear from them, along with participants - Iryna Rudivk, Maksym Yershov, and Olena Khodos, as well as Lidiia Oborina. She delivered the course; she’s a Programme Co-Ordinator at the Open Door Network, an organisation that provides support and pathways to marginalised people including refugees towards employment, entrepreneurship, and further education.
