The opening of a trial of a man accused of murdering a man in Tralee was delayed due to a fire alarm causing the entire courthouse to be evacuated.
The case is due to begin in Limerick today.
Arnoldas Ivanauskas of 111 Parklands, Tralee, and originally from Lithuania, is charged with murdering Dmitriy Hrynkevich.
The 24-year-old was found assaulted in Killeen Woods, Tralee on September 30th, 2015.
He died two days later in hospital.
Mr Hrynkevich, who was the third tallest man in Ireland, standing at 7 feet six inches tall, was born in Russia but grew up in Killarney.
The case is being heard before Mr Justice Michael MacGrath at the Central Criminal Court sitting in the new Limerick courthouse on Mulgrew Street today.
Yesterday, Mr Ivanauskas entered a not guilty plea to the murder charge and a jury of five women and seven men were sworn in.
However, before the evidence could begin the fire alarm in the courthouse went off and the building was evacuated; the case was adjourned to today.
Mr Ivanauskas is represented by Eimear Griffin of Padraig O'Connell Solicitors in Killarney, barrister Katie O'Connell and senior counsel Mark Nicholas.
The case is due to last for at least two weeks.
