Derelict houses should be used to tackle the shortage of accommodation for students attending the Munster Technological University’s Kerry campus.
That’s according to Tralee man Barry Sugrue, who’s vice-president for the Irish Language on NUIG’s Students’ Union.
He was speaking after 54 MTU students were told their rooms won't be available at Kerry Lee Student Village in Tralee.
The owners have decided to take back their houses 'for the purpose of long-term letting'.
Barry Sugrue says the housing crisis is affecting everyone and is calling for the Government to take action.
