Two Kerry hotels are planning to develop on site staff accommodation.
The Lake Hotel Killarney has been granted planning by Kerry County Council, while the owners of Hogs Head Golf Club in Waterville are seeking permission for a development.
Shortage of rental accommodation has resulted in many Kerry hotels developing accommodation on site.
Kerry County Council has recently granted planning permission for staff accommodation at the Lake Hotel in Killarney.
The hotel plans to construct four detached single-storey units, each consisting of four single bedrooms and one double bedroom.
The council has given this the go ahead subject to 17 conditions.
Meanwhile the owners of the exclusive Hogs Head Golf Club in Waterville, A&M Hogs Head Golf Club Limited, have applied for planning permission to build staff accommodation at the nearby, former Brookhaven Guest House.
The proposed development involves internal alterations to the existing house, demolition of a single-storey utility, and construction of a new single-storey building with 20 double bedrooms and a communal lounge area.
The plans also include the construction of another single-storey building with a laundry room and refuse store, along with a new waste water treatment system.
The council is due to make a decision on the case on November 14th.
