The death has taken place of Frank King who was among Radio Kerry's most popular and respected contributors.
Frank presented the Bird's Eye view slot on Kerry Today since the 1990s.
He was one of Ireland's leading ornithologists and his expertise and knowledge of birds gave him an international reputation.
Frank, who was 93 years old, was born in Blennerville and his love of birds and wildlife was nurtured from an early age.
Niall Hatch of BirdWatch Ireland says Frank was synonymous with nature in Kerry and he was responsible for thousands of people enjoying nature and fighting for conservation, all inspired by Frank who dedicated his long life to this:

Radio Kerry general manager Fiona Stack says Frank was a firm favourite with listeners for his generosity, knowledge, kindness and sense of fun.
She says he will be missed and remembered fondly by all of us in Radio Kerry and we extend our deepest sympathies to his family.
Frank King's funeral mass will take place on Thursday at noon in St John's Church, Tralee.
