The trial of a man accused of murdering a man in Tralee is due to begin in Limerick today. It will be the second time

The trial of a man accused of murdering a man in Tralee is due to begin in Limerick today.

It will be the second time the case will be tried after a jury was discharged by a judge in March due to COVID-19 concerns.

Arnoldas Ivanauskas of 111 Parklands, Tralee, and originally from Lithuania, is charged with murdering Dmitriy Hrynkevich.

The 24-year-old was found assaulted in Killeen Woods, Tralee on September 30th, 2015.
He died two days later in hospital.

Mr Hrynkevich, who was the third tallest man in Ireland, standing at 7 feet six inches tall, was born in Russia but grew up in Killarney.

The case is due to come before the Central Criminal Court sitting in Limerick today.

It is listed to be heard before Mr Justice Michael MacGrath.
