A Tralee woman says it’s crucial the report by the Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes is published soon.
Catherine Coffey O'Brien grew up in Nazareth House orphanage and industrial school in Tralee, and was also a resident of the Bessborough Mother and Baby Home in Cork.
She welcomes the Government's clarification that adoptees and survivors of mother and baby homes are legally entitled to access their personal data.
She says it’s a complex situation, and there’s been some misrepresentation in the reporting of it, adding she feels sympathy for Minister Roderic O'Gorman.
