The county needs the Rose of Tralee International festival.
That’s according to Mayor of Tralee and Labour councillor Terry O’Brien, who was speaking after presenter Dáithí O’Sé yesterday called for clarity on this year’s event.
Councillor O’Brien says there’s a huge appetite nationwide for the festival and, even if it cannot go ahead in its traditional format, there are options to mark it later in the year.

He says there have been communications between festival organisers and Kerry County Council recently.
