Tralee Tidy Towns has appealed to election candidates to remember that the county capital is a poster-free zone.

It’s chair, Brendan O’Brien says this has been the practice within Tralee town for the last two election cycles.

Meanwhile, several other Tidy Towns and community committees have urged candidates to uphold the poster ban within town boundaries – including in Waterville.

Mr O’Brien claims during the local elections some posters were erected in Tralee town, adding many didn’t remove them properly; while he claims one poster is still up.

He’s urging the candidates to respect the committees efforts by removing all cable ties along with the posters.
