Three more parishes in Kerry will lose their priest from next month as the fall in vocations continues.
Kilgarvan, Ballydonoghue and Caherdaniel will lose their priest as the diocese makes changes to clerical personnel following a number of retirements.
The Diocese of Kerry is due to announce the clerical changes this coming Friday.
The current serving priest in Kilgarvan is Fr Con Buckley, Fr John Lawlor in Ballydonoghue and Fr Martin Spillane in Caherdaniel.
The change brings the number of parishes without a priest in the county to 11.
The first parish to lose a priest in Kerry was in 2011 and now means that 20% of parishes in the diocese don't have their own priest.
Close on 90% of priests in Kerry are over 50 years of age.
A parish without a resident priest means that the priests in the other three or four parishes in their pastoral area together provide a full service in that parish; in that situation no priest is any longer full-time in his parish of residence.
