Three dozen complaints were made from people in Kerry about the use of Irish last year.
An Coimisinéir Teanga is the body which functions as an ombudsman service and compliance agency in relation to state services through Irish.
An Coimisinéir Teanga says it received over 600 complaints last year, with one in five relating
to the health crisis.
The greatest number of complaints were from Dublin, although a significant number were received from Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny and Donegal.
6% - or 36 complaints - were received from Kerry; this is an increase on the previous year's 4.2%.
While not giving details of all the complaints, An Coimisinéir Teanga said complaints were made against Kerry County Council's use of Irish during 2020.
