Kerry third level students are being encouraged to carefully examine their options when it comes to accommodation.
Niall Collins, the Minister of State for Skills and Further Education, says his department has provided funding to help students attend college and purchase equipment.
He says, while the return to college is planned and resourced, some people are struggling to secure accommodation due to the variability in how courses are delivered.
Currently, most course content will be delivered online, leading to uncertainty over whether or not students will need fulltime accommodation close to a college campus.
Junior Minister Collins says there are other options available.
