A Templenoe student has won an award at an international science fair.
18-year-old Conor Casey, who's a Leaving Cert student at Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine in Kenmare, won the second place award at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair.
Regeneron ISEF is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition, involving over 1,800 students from 64 countries, which took place online this year.
Conor Casey competed in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Category with a project which uses artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency of weather prediction, taking home a prize of $2,000.
He says he didn't expect to even qualify for the fair, and thanked his teacher Ms Abbott for her help.
