Team Geaney has raised €19,396 for the ICU department of University Hospital Kerry.

The main Ring of Kerry charity cycle was cancelled this year due to COVID-19.

However, Denis Geaney and his team undertook their own fundraising cycle around the Ring of Kerry yesterday in support of the Tangney family from the Black Valley.

Gene Tangney spent four months battling coronavirus in ICU; he was placed in an induced coma and put on a ventilator.

Mr Tangney was discharged from UHK on Friday, but still needs rehabilitation and ongoing treatment.

Gene Tangney met the cyclists yesterday, who got great support, with groups of singers attracting much attention along the route.
