The Taoiseach says families affected by the south Kerry CAMHS controversy won't have to fight through the courts.
A review into practices at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in the region found children had been prescribed inappropriate medication.
The unit has been unable to secure a permanent consultant psychiatrist, despite several recruitment campaigns over the last two years.
While those affected by health controversies have often had to take legal action for compensation, Micheal Martin says this will not be the case here.
He says the government intends to put a mechanism in place to compensate the families of the CAMHS controversy in a non-adversarial way.
