The Tánaiste expects indoor pubs and restaurant services to resume next month, as restrictions ease even further.

The news was welcomed across the hospitality sector in Kerry - which was named the most sought after staycation location this summer.

With 39% of people in a recent circle K survey choosing Kerry as their number location for holidays this year, the Kingdom is anticipating another busy summer.

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar said pubs and restaurants will not be restricted to 15 people - as they were during previous reopenings - a message that's welcome by The Lane Bar in Killarney.

Speaking to the online conference Leo Varadkar said travel restrictions between Ireland and Britain should be lifted this summer and said he does not believe US or European travel will fully return until 2022.
