Swimming ban at Fenit lifted

Kerry County Council says the bathing prohibition notices at Fenit Beach & Fenit Diving Boards have been lifted following receipt of water sample results back this morning and discussions with the HSE.

The bathing advisory notice in White Strand, Caherciveen, has also been lifted.

Adverse weather in recent weeks led to bathing bans in Fenit due to rainfall run-off into rivers and streams causing elevated bacteria levels at those locations.
