Submissions are being sought on varying the basic rate of Local Property Tax in Kerry.
The Local Property Tax is an annual self-assessed tax charged on all residential properties in the country.
In Kerry the local authority may vary the basic rate by a maximum of 15%.
A meeting will take place in September and members of Kerry County Council will consider the setting of a local adjustment factor.
Last year the Local Property Tax base rate in Kerry increased by 10%.
Kerry County Council is seeking suggestions from the public in relation to the Local Property Tax ahead of its September meeting.
It’s specifically welcoming submissions covering the potential effects of varying the basic rate on businesses, individuals and local authority services.
Submissions must be made in writing and can be sent to the Finance Department at Áras an Chontae, Tralee or emailed to [email protected].
All submissions must be received by 5pm on August 27th.
