Sport Ireland has announced almost €57,000 from Dormant Account Funding for Kerry.
The money will be used for a wide range of sport and physical activities for people with disabilities and people who are educationally disadvantaged or from disadvantaged communities.
5.9 million euro has been allocated nationally from the Dormant Accounts Fund to address inequalities in sport.
Unclaimed funds in dormant accounts are managed by the National Treasury Management Agency and used to address economic, social and educational disadvantage, or support those with a disability.
Kerry Fine Gael TD, Brendan Griffin, welcomed the allocation for Kerry saying it will increase participation in sport and contribute to positive physical and mental health.
Independent TD Danny Healy-Rae has also welcomed the funding.
