It's claimed some households in Kerry have suffered 25 water outages over the past three years.
Independent councillor Charlie Farrelly and Fianna Fáil councillor Fionnán Fitzgerald brought a joint emergency motion to the Castleisland and Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District meeting, following a series of water outages in recent weeks.
Councillor Charlie Farrelly says the recent weeks have been very trying for people in Currow and Cordal due to recurring water outages.
He says over the past three years some households in the areas have experienced 25 water outages, with a small number of houses in particular currently not having enough water pressure to run sinks and showers upstairs.
Councillor Farrelly says the situation is unbelievably bad, while Councillor Fionnán Fitzgerald says a large amount of suffering has been endured due to these water outages.
In response, the council says it's requested the Irish Water's Head of Asset Operations to join the next county meeting.
It's unclear if the Irish Water official will address individual issues in the county's water system.
